What is southpaw stance?

A southpaw stance is a fighting stance used predominantly by left-handed fighters. In a southpaw stance, the fighter's right hand is their dominant hand, and their right foot is typically placed forward. This positioning allows the fighter to throw powerful punches with their left hand and maintain better defensive positioning against opponents who typically fight from an orthodox stance (right-handed).

Southpaw fighters can often catch their opponents off guard and have a slight advantage due to their unorthodox positioning. However, they may also face challenges in terms of training, sparring, and finding suitable opponents to practice with.

Southpaw stances are commonly used in sports such as boxing, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts. Some famous southpaw fighters include Manny Pacquiao, Marvin Hagler, and Rafael Dos Anjos.
